LED Light BulbProvided By:
Geek's Were you aware that 20% of the electricity in the US is spent producing light? Take a look at that power bill and think how much money you are spending on light. Florescent light bulbs help lower this percentage because a florescent bulb is 3 to 4 times more efficient than a standard bulb. We crave technology here at A True Review, so what is the newest technology in lighting? The answer is simple, its a super bright LED bulb like those in your computer. Imagine a LED bulb 10 times more efficient than a florescent, or 40 times more efficient than a standard bulb. Plus, think of the colors you can get with an LED light bulb. LED light bulbs are getting a lot of hype, but are they worth the money ($40) in some places? Let's take a look.
Packaging: The LED Light bulb comes packaged in a cardboard box with a picture of the LED bulb on it. Also, highlighted on the front of the box is the amount of power that the LED light bulb uses, 1.3 Watt. On the sides of the box is a list of colors and lamp holders, with the proper one selected for this LED light bulb. Specifications: Specifications for the LED light bulb can be seen on Geek's web site.
Description:
The LED light bulb has a standard light bulb screw in connector at one end. On the other end is plastic cover. The cover has a honeycomb of indents for directing the light. Along the internal side of the plastic are little ribs. Inside the LED light bulb is 18 super bright LEDs. These are the same types of LEDs that are used in computer lighting, which you might be more familiar with.
I am surprised at how small this LED bulb is. It is probably a third of the size of a standard light bulb. |
