Logitech Cordless PresenterUsage: Logitech's Cordless Presenter arrived the day before I was to give two presentations at work. By the time I arrived at work the next morning, I had about an hour to set up the Cordless Presenter. No problem, right? Overall, setup is quite easy and fast. First, I installed the software. When you are short on time, the most annoying this waiting for your computer to restart. Unfortunately, that was the next step. After that, I plugged the Mini Receiver into the only USB port located on the back of my laptop. I later found out that installing the software was because of my Windows 2000 machine. For Windows XP, the software is not needed.
With batteries in the Cordless Presenter, I attempted to establish a connection by turning the device to the presentation mode and pressing the connect button. Since this is bluetooth the Cordless Presenter must be "paired" with the adapter. A beep from the device told me that it was trying to establish a connection but the red indicator light indicated otherwise. In the end, I had to press the connect button on the Mini Receiver before trying to establish the connection. Once it was connected, each time the adapter was removed and added again, the presenter found the adapter perfectly. Within fifteen minutes, I had the Cordless Presenter setup and ready to go. It worked flawlessly during my presentation. The laser point is a good size, not too small people can't see or too large that it obscures the objects on the screen. I really liked the fact that I didn't have to point the Cordless Presenter at my computer to forward to my next slide. Logitech's Cordless Presenter fits a hand perfectly, and it is very comfortable to waive a hand and not lose control of the presenter. Mouse mode works just like I expected. The Cordless Presenter is a little large for me to use comfortably as a mouse for long periods of time. In a pinch though, I find it much easier to use than my touch pad. Conclusion: Due to the high price tag, Logitech's Cordless Presenter is a must-have only for those who gives numerous presentations. Seamless transition between slides allows the audience to pay attention to the slides, not the person forwarding the slides. Even better the speaker can work the room without fear of not transitioning through the presentation. The two button format, laser pointer, and Bluetooth type connection makes the Cordless Presenter a very user friendly device. While the wireless mouse works fine, it is not anything special and is a feature that probably won't be used often. On the plus side, if you have a kitty, they will love the laser pointer. Pros:
