Scorpio Round ATA133 CablesManufacturer: CoolMax We all know the benefits of round cables. A round cable takes up less room in a case compared to a ribbon cable. This allows for better airflow, which leads to better cooling. Less room also means the neater your case is; thus the more light that will shine through in a case mod.
When round cables came on the market they only offered solid colors such as blue, red, black, etc... Although these cables were new and different they just didn't look that cool. Then the round cable manufacturers started introducing clear PVC insulation that allowed the metal shielding to show through. This made for cool looking cable effects. Unfortunately, no one thought of using other colors until now. Scorpio round cables like other round cables are shielded with a metal shield to prevent loss of signal from EMI interference. The difference is the shield shows through a translucent colored PVC covering. Scorpio cables come in a Lime Green, Light Yellow, Purple, Black, and Teal (the picture shows this cable a little darker than it is). Because the shield shows through, the cable exterior looks like it has a snake like texture. As you can see in the picture below the black cable is not a solid black and you are able to see the texture of the shield through it.
The cables that I have received are 2 device cables, 18 inches in length. They come with pull tabs which I do not like, but that is why you always have a pair of scissors. The jacket has a medium stiffness. It is hard to bend the cable, but with a 2 Device 18 inch cable, there is not a whole lot of cable to try and bend. Conclusion: There is not a lot of detail I can put into a cable review. What else can I say except if you are using round cables, these would be the cables to use. They are not your dull and boring solid color cables. Pros:
