Yeong Yang Cetus Computer Case (cont.)Exterior (cont.): The top, bottom and two side panels are black painted steel. Rubber feet for a non-slip grip are located on the bottom of the case.
A circular vent is located off center to the top left on the right panel, directly over where the CPU usually is. Also, on the right panel is a locking mechanism that locks the panel close. Sliding the key-holed button down will cause the switch above it to pop up; thus, unlocking the case. A pair of keys are included to lock the mechanism so that the button will not slide down.
The back of the case features standard assortments with the standout being the huge fan vent to accommodate the 120mm exhaust fan.
Two screws secure the left panel as well as the right if one feels the locking mechanism is not enough. If you do plan on securing the right panel with screws, I suggest using thumb screws to maintain the tool-free atmosphere. Interior:
The exterior has some nice features, but the main attraction is what’s inside. Mounted on the inside the right panel is a funnel shaped device that Yeong Yang refers to as an air guide. Ideally, the air guide should line up directly over the CPU fan allowing the CPU fan to suck in air from outside the case. Air from outside the case will be cooler than air inside the case allowing for better cooling. There is also less turbulence with the CPU fan competing against the rear exhaust fan. An exhaust fan at the rear of the case will steal around 20% of the CPU fan's air; thus, the air guide will allow the CPU fan to function more efficiently. It can expand in length to closely fit over CPU fans.
Every edge inside the computer case is folded or rounded over to prevent any chance of cuts. Most of the motherboard standoffs are built-in to the case but additional standoffs are included.
The front section of the interior features four 5.25" drive bays. The lower three bays, in addition to the plastic bezels, are also covered with steel punch-out covers.
Four sets of wide rails are included for screw-less installation of 5.25" drives. These rails require no screws to attach them onto drives; they have protruding tabs that can be pushed into the screw holes on the sides of optical drives. Above the 5.25" bays is a single 3.5" drive bay for a floppy drive. This is the only drive bay that will require screws to install.
Below the 5.25" bays are five 3.5" drive bays. These 3.5" bays are arranged perpendicular to most cases 3.5" bays, with the back of the drives facing the right of case instead of the back of the case. This makes installing drives much easier and allows for more room around the motherboard. Five sets of long rails are included for screw-less installation of 3.5" drives. These rails are also installed without screws, sleeved screws anyways. The rails feature rubber screw holes and use sleeveless push screws to mount themselves onto drives.
