United Kingdom based Acousti Products has been processing silent PC parts for the computing industry for years. Far from being "just another reseller," Acousti produces their own line of "Quiet" fans and cases. Today we take a look at the 120mm "Quiet" fan that Quiet PC was kind enough to ship us.

General Specifications

Specifications for the 120mm AcoustiFan from the manufacturer's web site are listed below.

Packaging was very good. The retail boxed product was shipped in an oversized box with lots of packing paper. It arrived damage free and in perfect shape.

First Look:

The retail packing included the fan itself, with an attached thermistor, plus a bag of hardware.

Unlike normal case fans, there are five separate wires coming out of the back of this beauty. Three wires for the fan connection, two for the thermistor. Both sets measured 20 inches, plenty of length to set the thermistor bulb near the CPU or anywhere else for that matter.

A closer look at the included hardware shows four fan mounting screws, a three pin to three pin extension, and four jelly like mounting grommets.

The extension has a resistor that drops the 12 volts down to 6.5 volts; thus, slowing the fan for "ultimate quietness." The only drawback is that you'll suffer a CFM hit as well.
