Aerocool ExtremEngine 3T Computer CaseInterior: Like the AeroEngine II, though the exterior of the Aerocool ExtremEngine 3T is very cool, its interior is as generic as can be. There is no innovative or convenient designs of any kind, like tool-less.
The front portion of the case is occupied with fixed drive bays. Each bay requires standard screws to secure drives. The drive bays are tab divided however, so during drive installation a drive can sit on the tabs while it is secured. The 3.5" drive bays are located right behind the front turbine fan; therefore, hard drives installed here will be actively cooled. The fixed motherboard tray has no standoffs attached though standoffs are included along with a small bag of drive screws. The power supply cutout at the back of the case has two extended tabs to provide a power supply with some support.
The coolest part of the ExtremEngine 3T's interior is the interior side of the left side panel where the 25cm fan is mounted. This ridiculously large fan features 13 blades. When the case is closed, the fan is located directly over the motherboard blowing air onto all of the computer's key components.
The front fan controller is capable of controlling three Molex connector fans. Naturally, the controller would be used to control the front turbine and side monster fans leaving a third controller free for a user supplied fan. With the two included fans turned down to the lowest speed using the fan controller, they are barely audible. When they are turned up all the way, they become noticeably audible though not head splitting; there is no high pitched whine.
Conclusion: ExtremEngine 3T is yet another visually impressive addition to Aerocool's Engine line of cases. Though it is heavily similar to the AeroEngine II, the ExtremEngine 3T's key distinguishing feature is extremely impressive. That feature of course is the 25cm side fan. The addition of a fan controller further enhances the case's functionality. However, with an uninspiring interior, Aerocool's ExtremEngine 3T is best suited for those who do not plan to do much internal tinkering with their system. Pros:
