Aerocool Masstige Computer CaseInternal: As mentioned before, the inside of the Aerocool Masstige is entirely flipped around; the motherboard tray is on the left side of the case and the power supply cage is at the bottom. This particular PSU cage can easily handle abnormally long power supplies without any problems.
Built right on top of the PSU cage are two hard drive compartments. These compartments use tool-less slid rails for fast drive mounting. Instead of being vertically stacked, these two compartments are oriented side by side. This setup actually helps keep hard drive temperatures down when there are two drives installed because the drives have less overlapped surface area.
Any drive(s) that are installed in these compartments would be actively cooled by three 80mm fans installed inside the right side panel. These fans are located right below the right panel's window. Each fan is Molex powered and are very quiet. Ideally, these fans would blow air across the hard drives and the air would exhaust through the vents on the left side panel (behind the drives).
Located above the hard drive compartments is the motherboard tray. As mentioned before, the Masstige is BTX compatible. The motherboard tray features mounting holes for both ATX and BTX motherboards; an "A" or "B" accompanies each hole. One of the benefits of having the motherboard flipped up side down is that the CPU will be located towards the bottom of the case. Thermally, since hot air rises, having the CPU towards the bottom of the case can help lower its temperatures. There is good clearance from the top of the hard drive compartments to the motherboard tray (about 1.5"). This helps increase compatibility with certain oversized heatsinks.
Mounted at the back of the case is a 120mm quad blue LED clear fan. This fan, like the three side fans, is also Molex powered and very quiet. Each of the 7 expansion slots are covered with plain slot covers and secured by standard screws.
At the front of the case are ten 5.25" drive bays. Each of these drive bays use completely tool-less "button" locks to secure drives. These locks work by simply inserting them into the side of the drive bay and turning their center knob.
Included with the case are three sets of 3.5" to 5.25" drive adapters. This means that without anything else, five 3.5" drives (hard drive or otherwise) can be installed in the Masstige. Of course, more 3.5" drives can be installed with additional 3.5" to 5.25" adapters or type devices.
Mounted at the front of the drive cages is a fan bracket that can accommodate a 120mm intake fan. Though it will occupy the front of three consecutive drive bays, it can be moved to occupy any three.
Aerocool includes extension cables for the front power buttons, LEDs and I/O ports cables. Since the majority of motherboards have the case button/LED headers on the bottom of the motherboard, with the Masstige's flipped orientation, the headers end up at the top of the case. Additionally, since the power buttons and LEDs are at the bottom front of the case, these included extension cables can come in real handy. All the edges in the case are either folded or rounded to prevent the risk of getting cut. For a case with fairly average external dimensions, it is simply amazing that the Masstige has so much internal space.
Conclusion: The overall look of the Aerocool Masstige is very nice. Though its paint coating does not have a lustrous shine, it does offer a solid look that is low maintenance. With ten 5.25" drive bays, it can handle just about any and all optical drives and/or drive bay accessories you may want to install. If all 10 drive bays are not filled, the mesh drive bezels offers ample air ventilation as well as a degree of transparency for any internal case lighting to show through. Internally, the Masstige is very well organized. The power supply's cooling is isolated from the rest of the case. Furthermore, the case is designed to provide very good hard drive cooling for up to two drives. In my experience, a case with a modular front like the Masstige is perfect for anyone who is planning to use an extreme water-cooling setup that involves big radiators because it can easily fit a 240mm (double 120mm) radiator internally. Overall, the Aerocool Masstige is a good looking, well organized, highly spacious, and very versatile computer case. Pros:
