A+ GPB Window CaseProvided by: A+ GPB Inc. Packaging:
The case rests securely in its shipping box. Styrofoam secures the case in the box and protects it from damage. Plastic is wrapped around the case to prevent against scratches. I have seen some cases double boxed, like the Aspire, but A+ GPB does not do this. The case is still well protected for shipping to your house. Manufacturer Specifications: These specifications can be seen on A+ GPB's web site.
Outside:
Taken out of the box, the first thing the observer notices is the window with an 80mm fan in the middle of it. Protecting the window from scratches on both sides is a thick, soft plastic sheet. Rivets hold the window securely to the case. Moving the eyes off the window, the observer notices metal that has a nice silverish tone with a little bit of texture. Texture causes the case not to be shinny like A+'s PSUs. If you are looking for a sturdy case, this case is a good choice. When putting weight on the top of the case, I could not get it to bend or sway. The supports located inside are in the right places. I have seen other cases start to give if you push down on the top of them.
The front of A+ GPB's case has Plexiglas covering the silverish colored plastic. The clear buttons look awesome. They have a honeycomb design in them. One of the smaller buttons does not push in for it is not needed. A case only needs power and reset these days but to keep the symmetry, A+ put a blank in. Located at the bottom of the case are the front USB ports. This is not a simple, "we put some USB ports at the bottom of your case." The door covering the ports moves smoothly up and down. The door is thick unlike on other case doors that are flimsy and will probably break off. Next to the USB ports, audio ports exist. Most computer cases do not provide audio ports. If you need a fire wire port, IEEE 1394, a punch plate is included as well. |
