Waffer PC AirCon PAC 400Provided By: Waffer Technology Corp With the advent of super fast processors and ultra performance video cards, a user who chooses to stay with air cooling is going to face some challenges. One of those challenges could be that air cooling with the ambient room temperature air will affect stability. Eventhough air can be brought into a case by fans, what temperature can one expect from the air outside of the case? If it's summer the air could get very hot.
Today, I'm going to look at the Waffer AirCon PAC 400, a product that might solve the problem of the temperature difference between the outside and inside of the case. It allows for 24/7 cold air. However, the question is how practical will it be to the end user? Let's find out. Packaging: Waffer's PC AirCon comes packaged in plain cardboard box. It fits securely inside. A cutout window displays the fan of and part of the unit. Inside the box are all the other components and instructions that are needed to install the AirCon.

Description:
It's a pretty straight forward package. The way it works is that the grey external unit plugs into the 5.25" bay adapter. This bay adapter supplies power to the AirCon unit. This also causes the unit to stick out from the front of your case. Waffer's AirCon uses a peltier supplied with air from the fans to produce airflow. Air flows into the unit and across the top heatsinks to cool it down. On the font is a blue glowing LCD that displays the temperature of the air going into your case. The removable part of the unit contains all the fans and the heatsinks that will cool your case.
The blue connector is the source where the external modular unit plugs into. Through a 4 pin Molex connector it is fed power by connecting it to a 4 pin Molex from your power supply. |
