Nyko Air Flo PC Gamepad (cont.)Usage:
The Air Flo gamepad is easy to setup. Just plug it into the USB port and Windows XP recognizes it as a game gamepad under the control panel. No driver or setup disks are provided with the gamepad. Once installed, I played a couple of games. The first game was an old DOS game I love, NBA Hangtime, the second game was Madden 2004. The gamepad worked perfectly in the DOS game. After about 30 minutes of use with no fan, my hands were soaked in sweat. I turned the fan on low and could barely feel the air. Within a few minutes my hands were dry and I was gripping the pad solid. If you turn the fan on high you can feel the air better but it is loud. I know it annoyed me, until I cranked the games up. Definitely turn the fan off when not in use. A side note: if you grip the gamepad really tight, it is very hard to feel the air. Having a relaxed grip seemed to let the air flow better.
Compared to a GameCube gamepad the Nyko Air Flo quite a bit larger. Conclusion: Nyko's Air Flo gamepad is the best gamepad I have ever put in my hands. Although, I'll admit, I am a big fan of the Playstation's gamepad; therefore, I like the similar layout. The Air Flo keeps hands dry with its innovative fan idea. More than that, it fits perfectly into my hands. The rubber grips keep it firmly in place. With 13 buttons it works for almost any game. To top it off a 10 foot cord will allow you to relax while you play. The only drawback was the noisy fan on the high setting, but it works great on low. Pros:
