Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 CaseExterior:
Arctic Cooling's Silentium T2 has a smooth overall look, sporting a silver matte paint coat with black accents. The front of the case is made of plastic with top and bottom edges that are largely rounded. A rounded black column runs down the right side. In this column is a small black reset button, large gray power button, HDD and power LEDs, two USB ports, and two audio ports. There is also a perforated spot that is designed for a Firewire port, though the actual port is not included. The power and HDD LEDs are setup in a rather interesting orientation as two semi rings surrounding the power button. The left power LED glows blue while the right HDD LED flashes red.
The top half of the case front swings open to the right revealing two 5.25" and two exposed 3.5" drive bays. All the drive bays are covered with a black drive bezel.
In the bottom, front right corner is a square indentation that is perfect for a case badge. Arctic Cooling does not include a case badge of their own with the Silentium T2. To help minimize noise, front intake vents are strategically absent.
The bottom of the case Silentium T2 has another very interesting design. The case sits on a black plastic platform. Top side the platform features strategically designed fins. Two rubber feet in the middle of the case's bottom fit into designated spots on the platform. Also, on the case's bottom are patches of vents at the front and back. The purpose of these vents, as well as the platform's fins, are fully described in the next section.
The back of the Silentium T2 has a slight variation from that of a standard ATX case. An I/O plate and 7 expansion slots, each covered, are where they are supposed to be. To the right of each are patches of vents. Noticeably absent from the back of the case is the power supply cutout. In its place are two 80mm fan cutouts, each covered with a fan grill. At the bottom right corner of the back is an AC power port. The left side panel is secured with two thumb screws.
