A few months ago we reviewed a Lazer LED Kit provided
by CaseCooler.com. These LEDs were small enough to fit
anywhere in your
computer. The Lazer LEDs had their limitations. The major limitation
was that a modder could not focus the LEDs without taking them
out
of their protective cover. Flexiglow has released a unique Lazer
Beam kit design that allows for easy adjustment of each
individual
LED, allowing a case modder to focus the light in a desired way.

Flexiglow's Lazer Beam kit comes in a variety of
different colors. Colors include: blue, green, purple, red UV,
and white.
Overview:
A list of components are available for the Flexiglow
Lazer Beam kits. The back of the LED package shows a sound driver
kit, cigarette jack, molex connector, and a molex connector with
switch. A cigarette lighter jack makes the LED kit a perfect mod
for the interior of cars. Since this is a computer review site,
we will stick to the computer side of matters and talk about the
molex
with switch
that came with the kit.

The "Lazer Beam" is an ultra bright LED that is encased
in a miniature plastic spotlight. A focal beam magnifier on the
end of each light will increase the intensity of the light for
better lighting. The spotlight is connected to a base via a pivot
point
which allows the light to be moved 180 degrees. Double sticky back
tape is attached to the bottom of each base for easy mounting.
The
transformer uses velcro with an adhesive back that sticks to the
case.

Flexiglow Lazer Beam Kits use a 12 volt power source.
A four pin Molex pass through connector is used to provide the
power.
Each LED branches out from the transformer on its own power line.
Each power leg is about 27 inches long, making it perfect to spread
the lights out throughout a computer case. This will allow for
more area coverage than standard Lazer LEDs.
Flexiglow sent us a Lazer Beam kit that includes
an on, off, and flash switch. Heat shrink tubing protects the
solder joints on the switch from breaking
and
shorting
out. The switch includes a tiny face
plate
that has screw holes in it. A hole will have to be cut in the case
To mount this switch, a hole will have to be cut in the computer
unless a 9 pin serial port slot is open on your case. Mounting
the switch to the 9 pin serial port will take some effort as well
for it is not an exact fit.
