Bluetooth Stereo Headset

In Use :

As mentioned before, the lack of a manual makes the BlueMuFly harder to use. While an advanced user knows to pair bluetooth devices, a novice user might not. Also, having to figure out that the USB port on the side of the transmitter only powers the device makes it a bit confusing. It took less than 2 hours to charge the transmitter from my computer USB port. While charging, the transmitter can be used but will not run off of USB power. Battery life lasted a very long time. My headphone batteries lasted for over 10 hours while the transmitter lasted about 5 1/2 hours of constant play.

Next, issue I had with the BlueMuFly was when it was hooked to my computer, the sound would randomly cut out. Every other device I tried was fine. I'm not running any other bluetooth devices in the room. Still, to cut down on interference, I turned off my phone and the wireless network. This did not make a difference as expected, wishful thinking though.

Sound quality is pretty good, I would not say amazing though. Music vocals are clear and bass has punch; there is no way to adjust it on the headset. I will itterate that this is not a bass thumping head set. I took the BlueMuFly Bluetooth headset and plugged it into my PSP. I would say this is where the headset really shines for convenience, since the BlueMuFly can easily work with portable devices because of its setup. Games sounded sharp and background noises were easily picked up.

For distance, inside my house I was able to go down stairs and pick up an audio signal. This was probably 10 to 15 feet through walls. There were some dead spots and at times the signal would cut out. Within the same room, the headset worked fine, though occasionally cutting out. It seemed that the higher the device's volume, the better the signal. Not sure if this is something with the BlueMuFly or some other outside condition; therefore, I tested this theory throughly and unfortunately it was not true because in a different room I was only able to get the same range out of every different volume level I tried. Setting the PSP on a desk to play music is the best audio performance I had. It played flawless, but was only about 3 feet away from me. Searching around my block there are some Bluetooth devices and couple of other wireless signals. This is no excuse for the poor performance since this is the real world and we do not live in a lab; thus, I am not excited about the range of the BlueMuFly Bluetooth headset.

Outdoors the bluetooth headset worked great from about 15 to 20 feet away. Though when going around the corner or behind a fence, the signal would cut out.

Wearing the Suncore Bluetooth Headset for a couple of hours was okay. The padding for me could be softer for my ears got a little tired. Although this might be the band and not the padding. The top of my head was the most uncomfortable after long wear and maybe the tension was too much causing the ear pieces to push into my head. As a disclosure, I perfer the types of headphones that clip to the ear for they are light and feel very comfortable.

Conclusion:

If looking for a set of headsets to eliminate wires, Suncore's BlueMuFly will do that. It is compatible with a variety of devices, because all that is needed is a 3.5mm stereo socket which most devices have. Sound quality is very good but not surperb. I think it is perfect for listening to music and playing games at work, on an airplane or maybe while working around the house.

If looking to set a device down in one room and listen to it in another, BlueMuFly has some issues and I would recommend trying another device out. The extent of the range is really setting a device on a desk and listening to it while sitting in a chair a few feet away. The downside, besides the poor range, is that the headphones cannot be worn for long hours of wear.
