There are two roads you can take when it comes to getting a modded computer case. You can get a "regular" case and mod it yourself. This means adding a window (if it does not already have one), installing some LED fans, throwing in a fan controller, and so on. The other option is to get a pre-modded case; a case with most of these mod features already included.

When considering a pre-modded case there is one company that stands out above the rest, Thermaltake. This review will look at Thermaltake’s latest case, the aggressive looking, fully modded Damier Series Super Tower. The Damier Series comes in six flavors: blue steel, black steel, and silver aluminum. The blue and black steel series vary only in color. With the aluminum series there is less weight. Each style has a window or no window version. This review will be examining the black steel window model, V5000A.

Thermaltake's Damier computer case is packaged in a full color retail box. The front of the box is a burgundy color with fading checker patterns. It has a picture of the case along with an yellow icon list. This list contains the Damier’s various features.

The back of the box has black letterbox strips on the top and bottom. At the center is a picture of case's interior. Damier's interior picture is surrounded by square picture highlights of the numerous features.

Inside, the case is held in place with two pieces of Styrofoam and enclosed within a plastic bag to protect it from scratches. The side panel window is covered with a layer of shrink wrap on the exterior side and a layer of thin foam on the interior side.
