HTPC; by now you should have at least heard of the
acronym. It stands for Home Theatre Personal Computer. Many of you
might think "what is the difference between a regular PC and
an HTPC?" In short, two things: the look of the computer, namely
the case, and the software. Just about all true HTPCs feature a
chic HTPC case that makes the computer look like it belongs with
the rest of your home theater equipment. They also feature some
kind of software to make accessing all the various media on the
computer supremely easy.

Nowadays, building an HTPC has become as easy as building
a regular PC. Thanks in part to all the choices in HTPC cases and
media software available. To make the process even easier, SilverStone
has released a new member to their Lascala line of HTPC cases, the
Silverstone LC10-M. The Lascala features an integrated VFD and includes
the Soundgraph iMON remote control and Multi-Median media center.

The Silverstone LC10-M comes packaged in an undecorated brown
shipping box with the SilverStone company logo on the sides. Inside,
the case is held in place by two pieces of Styrofoam and enclosed
in a plastic bag. The iMON remote control and accompanying CD is
enclosed in a small brown box that's located inside one of the Styrofoam's
crevices.

As with all of SilverStone's previous Lascala HTPC cases, the

case made from steel. The front panel features an indented concave
row that runs across its width passing through it. From left to
right are the power button, power LED, HDD LED, reset button, VFD,
and drive tray opening for the built-in optical drive bezel. Below
the opening, the accompanying button should line up with the open
tray button of an optical drive. A slim drive door is included,
which is designed to stick to the front of an optical drive's tray
providing full drive stealthing.

In the bottom front left corner is a row of four USB ports. Just
over the left front edge of the case is where the rest of the front
I/O ports (Firewire, earphone and MIC jacks) are located along with
