Computer audio has come a long way since those buzzers
and internal speakers that sounded like R2-D2. Nowadays,
computers can be equipped with sound cards capable of providing
six plus channels of surround sound.
Though listening to surround
sound on the computer is incredible, it is not always convenient
to setup surround speakers around the computer. When gamers tote
their computers to LAN parties, I seriously doubt they bring
their speaker systems with them, or if they do I doubt they are
permitted to use them. Then there are times where you would like
to enjoy surround sound, but do not want to disturb others. Zalman
has a solution to these surround sound problem; the Theatre 6
real surround sound headphones.

Description:
What makes these Zalman's headphones special? They
contain six actual speakers. In addition to the two
main
speakers that all headphones contain, there are also two smaller
speakers to the left and right (or front and back, however you
want to consider it) of each of the main speakers. The front two
speakers perform the duties of the center channel, higher frequency
or voice. The two main speakers take care of the left and right
channels, and
the
rear
two speakers handle the surround channels.

your head, but keep in mind that they are housing 6 speakers. The
majority of
Zalman's Theatre 6 headphones
are made of plastic that feels very sturdy. Combined with
the weight, this gives the Theatre 6 a solid feel.

Both ear pieces use circular leatherette pads to make the headphones
very comfortable to wear. There are protrusions on two ends
of each ear piece where the additional speakers are housed. Each
protrusion features small vents.

and so they can be folded up when not in use. The hinge points
on the earpiece
feature silver round caps that feature engravements of Zalman
and L or R.

The headphone cable runs out of the left ear piece as a single
cable
and splits
into three at the end. The single cable is medium thick and
is a lengthy ten feet.

The
headband is expandable and the top is
cushioned. Zalman reads across the top of this cushioning.
While leather makes up the material at the top and sides of the
headband cushioning,
the bottom part that actually touches your head
is cotton.
