Beantech BT-70 External Drive CaseA Closer Look: The case is superb. Assembled with a "U" shaped cover made it very easy to take apart with just four bolts. The case houses it's own 65 watt PSU along with everything you need to get started with your own external adventure. All you need to do is add the drives.
Above the PSU is the IDE controller which has two separate channels that operate independently through a USB 2.0 connection. Beside that is a clear 80mm exhaust fan. Intake is handled through the slotted bay up front where you can store media.
Beantech has provided audio connections at the rear via RCA outputs for left and right channels; for each IDE channel! Nice! On the bottom is a set of very nice rubber feet which screw on/off. The PSU has it's own on/off switch which allows you full "hot" plug and play functionality under Windows XP without the use of software.
Turning attention to the front, we see that the BT70 has space for two externally accessible drives, while media storage gets it's very own space at the bottom behind a special door that functions as an intake. LEDs show the operation and functionality of each drive as well as power status.
