This is done by pressing the pairing button located at the base of the mouse. After the pairing button is pressed, the scroll wheel will glow blue for a small period of time until the mouse is paired with the computer. This is the only time the scroll wheel glows blue. It moves very smoothly across plastic surface mouse pads. The only time I noticed any minor latency is when the computer boots up and Windows is still loading. The buttons have a solid feel to them though the scroll feels rather low, barely protruding out of the mouse. The scroll wheel has 24 clicks per revolution but going from click to click is rather stiff. For casual mouse usage, the BT500 performs very well. Laptop users, will love this mouse. For gaming, the diminutive size may be troublesome for serious gamers. </p> <p>As with all wireless mice, the BT500 requires batteries to operate. Two AAA Energizers are included. They should last for a fair amount of time but will eventually run out of juice. I suggest investing in a battery charger and a set of rechargeable batteries if you have not already, since the cost of batteries can quickly pile up.</p> <p><strong>Conclusion:</strong></p> <p> The BT500 is a wonderful mini Bluetooth mouse. Setup is very straight forward, while performance is very pleasant. Its small size makes the Bluetooth Mouse the perfect laptop companion. The only problem I have with this mouse is its scroll wheel.
