Bluetake Bluetooth BT210 USB Printer Adapter & BT009X USB AdapterDescription:
The BT210 is enclosed in white plastic and has BLUETAKE printed in black across the front. Between the company name and the top of the device are two LEDs labeled PWR/LINK. Moving down to towards bottom, the type B USB plug extends a good 30mm out of the adapter. It can be rotated; therefore, it should fit any USB printer. At the top of the adapter, on the left, is a gray antenna that can extend to about 55mm. The back of the adapter has a small information sticker that contains the P/N, S/N, and MAC numbers.
The AC adapter connects into the right side of the BT210. The AC adapter is slightly bulky but the bulk is designed to the side; therefore, it will only take one AC slot in a power strip. The AC adapter also has a green LED on top that indicates weather there is power or not.
The BT009X is encased in transparent black plastic with BLUETAKE printed across the front in white. On the back of the adapter is a small informational sticker that has the P/N, S/N, and MAC numbers. Since it is very thin, it will not take up an adjacent USB port when plugged in. Installation:
If you already have a Bluetooth adapter on your computer (like from a Bluetooth mouse) then you do not need the BT009X and can skip the rest of this paragraph. To install the BT009X, the proper software will need to be installed before plugging the adapter in. To install the software, insert the CD into the computer. Assuming auto-run is enabled, a language splash page should appear. After selecting a language, another splash page should appear. From this page, select Install Bluetooth Software and follow the on screen instructions.
Once the software is properly installed, plug in the BT009X into a vacant USB port. The installation should place an icon on the Desktop called "My Bluetooth Places." Launch it and go through the configuration.
A very important thing to do before installing the BT210, is to make sure that the printer is working properly when installed with a USB cable to the computer. If you are installing the BT210 with the BT009X, then the software that is included with the BT210 is not required. If you are using another Bluetooth computer adapter, then the software that came with the BT210 may be needed. To install the BT210, plug it into the printer's USB port. The adapter’s USB plug may need to be rotated to fit the printer. Once plugged in, extend the antenna and plug in the AC adapter. The LED on both the AC adapter and BT210 should light up when plugged in. Turn on the printer if it is not already.
When everything is plugged in and turned on, open up "My Bluetooth Places." Click the "Search for devices in range" under the "Bluetooth Tasks" menu on the left side of the screen. The Bluetake BT210 should show up. Double click on it and it will install.
