BeanTech CS-BT 85 Clear Acrylic CaseProvided by: BeanTech In the beginning, man created the computer. But for some reason, man decided to enclose this device of endless possibilities inside a beige box. In that box it stayed for the next few CPU generations. Then finally came what I call the post-beige era. Cases now can be found in almost any combination of colors, most common ones now being black, silver, and grey. With the arrival of the seventh generation processors (Pentium 4, Athlon XP) also came power supplies capable of pumping out two to three times the amount of power your computer actually needs. Not to let all this power go to waste, people started adding lighting accessories to their computers. What is the point of the inside of your case looking like a new year’s party if you cannot see it. This is why case windows started emerging. Now your internal decorations can actually be seen. For some, even this is not enough.
There are still some mods that, even with a case window, are just not worth while. This is where acrylic cases come in. Acrylic cases, for those of you that did not know, are transparent cases. With an acrylic case, everything in your case can be seen in all their glory. The BT 85 by BeanTech is one of these cases. This acrylic case has more than transparency going for it. The BT 85 is a feature filled case that is also designed for overclockers in mind. For those who like their cases with at least a little color, BeanTech makes the same case but with a green tint (BT 85-G) or a blue tint (BT 85-B). Packaging:
The BT 85 arrived in a HUGE colored shipping box. The face of the box displays the case's name, model number, and a list of its features. The side box lists the specifications. The case is held in the center of the package by two inches of Styrofoam on each side and enclosed inside a plastic bag with a sticker that says,
Except the bottom, each side of the case is also shrink wrapped for additional protection. Extras:
Included with the BeanTech acrylic case is the user manual. The user manual gives a flow chart and a step by step pictured installation guide. To prevent finger prints from getting on the case, BeanTech also included a pair of white cotton gloves for use during handling of the case and installation. This is a very thoughtful thing to include. Lastly, a hefty bag of screws is included with the case since acrylic cases have thicker panels; thus, require longer than usual screws. Specifications:
