FSP Cooling Kit CK400Description:
The Cooling Kit sports a black and orange color scheme. The power supply's top casing (making up the top, front and back) is orange while the bottom casing (making up the bottom, left and right) is black. The back of the power supply is almost completely perforated and features the usual AC three pin power port, power switch, red input voltage switch, and a control knob for the PSU's fan. One internally mounted clear 120mm fan handles the job of cooling the power supply by sucking in air from bottom of the power supply and exhausting through the rear. The 120mm fan has five fan blades and tri color (red, blue, green) LEDs. The golden fan grill is externally mounted with the rings out.
The motherboard power cable is sleeved with mesh. Each of the eight Molex connectors feature a purple smart housing. This ensures that detaching them from peripheral is very easy. Simply squeeze the two round tabs and the connector will slide loose. One serial ATA power connector is available for those with a serial ATA drive.
Each case fan has a black fan cage with an orange, 7 blade fan. The fans have a green temperature diode that regulates the fan speed between 2000 and 3000 RPM, depending on the temperature of air going through the fan. Both fans have a 3-pin power connector and a 4-pin to Molex adapter to convert one fan to a Molex powered fan.
Inside, there are two big aluminum heatsinks and two huge capacitors.
Installation: Installing the power supply is a simple matter. Hold it in the PSU bay and secure the mounting screws. As mentioned earlier, the power supply's fan grill is externally mounted with the rings out. This will cause problems with cases that have any sort of PSU platform because the grill will raise power supply and misalign the mounting holes. There are ways around this problem, like flipping the grill around so the rings are inside or removing the grill all together. Installing the grill internally is out of the question for there is no room; the fan is already touching some of the internal heatsinks.
The two case fans can be installed anywhere in the case that accommodates an 80mm fan. If your case uses any tool-less fan supports, simply install the fan as directed by the case's manual. If your case's fan bay has four mounting screw holes, then use four screws to install each fan.
