CMI Computer's cs807b Mid Tower CasePower Supply:
This case comes with a power supply. It is a very small PSU in size, and doesn't way much at all. It only has four 4 pin Molex, one floppy drive, a 20 pin ATX, and a 4 pin auxiliary P4 power connectors. The wires also feel very thin. The power specifications are:
This supply has okay power output Amps but the I would have liked to see some of the 5V rail's power moved to the 12V rail. To test the supply, I put a load on it and measured the voltages with a multimeter. Readings were as followed:
The voltages were within the +/- 5% tolerance level. The 5V line was kind of scary at an exact 5%, something that would turn me away. Fan Controller: Originally, I thought this was a fan controller. Unfortunately, when the fan is plugged in, allow that is seen is that the fan on the LCD screen rotates. If the fan is unplugged, the display turns red and it beeps. The three temperatures are show one at a time by rotating through them with the Mode button. Press the Up C/F button to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
Displaying the power on time is the other feature of the display. This display is in green at the top. The Set button is used to change time in combination with the Up C/F button. The maximum hours that can be entered is 24. Note: the last power on time does not stay when the power is turned off, so using it as a clock will be pain if you shut your system off. Conclusion: For a budget case I have to say this is one of the best I have seen. It comes with a window, power supply, and a temperature controller / monitor. The paint job of the cs807b is solid and the case is super light. I'm not sure many LAN gamers take budget cases to their parties, but if you do, this ones light enough for you. The only drawback I had was that the power supply is only so-so, with a poor 5V line. It would be fine for college student or home user that needs an email / home office type system. For those power users and gamers, you will want to replace the supply. A globe and the orbits around the globe are not my taste in window design. I would have preferred to have no design at all.
