Enermax Black Knight CaseInterior:
Unfortunately, the thumb screws securing the side panels are the only installation convenience. Both the drive bays, expansion slots, and cooling fan ports feature no tool-less designs what so ever. This is the reason that the right side panel is as easy to remove as the left. Both panels need to be removed to install and secure drives with screws on both sides.
Mounted to the floor of the case is an included sound sensitive neon cold cathode light. It sits on top of a navy blue raised platform. The red button on the middle expansion bracket toggles the light between steady "on" and "sound sensitivity" mode. In the lower right corner of the platform is a scroll wheel that controls the sensitivity of the light when in sound sensitivity mode. At its highest setting, the light is sensitive enough to pulsate to the case fans. At its lowest setting, the light will barely flicker to loud claps. Some time should be spent to find the optimal sensitivity.
A white accessories box is included with the Black Knight. It includes a bag of various screws, an AC power cord, and a pair of "security screws" with a pair of keys. Security screws are screws that have a unique top instead of a slot or Philips' top. Only the included set of keys can tighten or loosen them.
Power Supply: Enermax's Black Knight includes a modest Powerup 350W switching power supply. This PSU is cooled with a single 80mm exhaust fan and has a manual power switch. Of course, for you over clockers and heavy users, you will want to replace this PSU. The +12V rail can handle 16A, +5V rail can handle 35A, and +3.3V rail can handle 28A. The +3.3V and +5V rails have a max output of 200W. Using a multi-meter, the voltages have the following deviances:
All three voltages are within the acceptable 5% deviance.
Conclusion: The only down side to this case is that there are no tool-less drive and expansion card features. Overall, the Enermax Black Knight is an exteriorly well designed and visually astounding, yet affordable case. Pros:
