Memorex 1GB TravelDrive USB 2.0 Flash DriveProvided by: Geeks Just about everyone has a flash drive, and why not. With something the size of your thumb, you can store lots of data like mp3s, documents, pictures, etc... What makes a good thumb drive these days? The first answer is storage, but what about size and speed. Most flash drives these day are USB 2.0 compatible; therefore, they should be about the same speed. This sounds sound, but is it true. Memorex advertises their flash drive as being fast, but is it truly faster than other USB 2.0 flash drives. Thanks to Geeks, formerly Computer Geeks, we will find out.
Packaging: Geek's sent the flash drive in their standard packaging. A plain brown box with air bags inside.
Unlike other packages I have received from the Geeks, this package had a snap shut, blister pack surrounding the retail packaging. Tape on the back explained that this added package was to protect against stock and static electricity.
Opening the outer blister package reveals the retail package. A picture of a woman wearing the flash drive as an earring is on the front. This is slick way of showing how light the drive is.
On the back are features and specifications. This package is sealed shut, my favorite, not really. After cutting and ripping, I finally got down to the drive. Features/Specifications: Features and specifications can be found on the Geek's website. General Features:
