General Specifications Specifications for the HardCano III from the manufacturer's web site are listed below.
Packaging: Packaging was great. A big USPS Priority box and lots of packing material is always a plus. The HardCano III arrived safe and sound. Another job well done Pham!
First Look: The retail package contains: the Hardcano, a set of drive mounts, some thermal tape, a three pin to molex connector, a bag of hardware, an instruction sheet, and a bunch of wiring.
The cooler itself has three up front modules. First up is the fan controller. You can hook up any system fan to this controller and "dial in" your case cooling. With settings for High, Medium and Low, this is a nice addition.
Last, but certainly not least is the LCD readout. While not backlit, it is easy to read from a distance even with the protective plastic in place.
The attached thermistor was right on target when I compared it to my reliable Springfield Precise Thermometer. There was plenty of wire to place the thermistor wherever I pleased in my mid-tower. Word of warning; place the flat thermistor between your CPU and HSF at your own risk. The themistor's instructions clearly state, "Do Not Put Undue Pressure On The Thermistor." This means NEVER put it between the die and the heatsink. Although, it is possible to snake the thermistor between the pins of your CPU. |
