Rivet HARMONY Stereo Headset LanyardDescription: Rivet's HARMONY Stereo Headset Lanyard is actually a combination of many things. First and foremost, it is a set of in-the-ear earbuds. Compared to standard earbuds, which go in your ear but do not stick into your ear canals, in-the-ear earbuds do stick into your ear canals. The tips of the buds that go into the ear are made of removable soft gel. Three sets of gel tips (of different sizes) are included to insure that the buds fit a wide array of ear sizes.
The earbuds are connected to cords that are covered with a braided fabric. The two bud cords are separate for almost the entire length of the headset, joining at around 26" down from the buds.
Rivet's HARMONY headset is also a headset meaning it has a microphone. The microphone pod is located about two thirds of the length down the left earbud cord. In addition to housing the mic, the microphone pod also has a single answer/end button.
Between the microphone pod and the earbuds, the two cords are coupled together by a plastic two-piece collar. This collar can slide all the way up to the buds or down to the microphone. This collar, along with the separate earbud cord design, makes up the HARMONY's other function – a lanyard for your phone. Ideally, the collar can be adjusted to a position somewhere between the earbuds and microphone. This would then create a loop (from the collar to where the two cords join) that can be worn around your neck. It is in this fashion that the HARMONY is supposed to be worn. When worn like this, the microphone pod would be somewhere around your neck and the earbuds would go from the plastic collar (which would be located behind your neck) to your ears. When the HARMONY is not in use, the two pieces of the plastic collar can be used to minimize cord tangle by having one piece slide up to the buds while the other piece slides down to the microphone.
Rivet is best known for their super simple, yet effective attachment systems for gadgets. It is only natural that they would incorporate their famed attachment system into the HARMONY. At the base of the headset, where the two cords meet, there is a built-in Rivet Micro Clip. Included with the headset are a Multi Pin and a Universal Pin. Both pins can be attached to the Micro Clip quickly and securely. Where they differ is how they attach to your cell phone. The Multi Pin is equipped with a small lanyard loop so it attaches to your phone's lanyard gap (if it has one). The Universal Pin on the other hand attaches to your phone by sticking to it.
A short (7") cord braided with fabric and a gold 2.5mm straight headset jack extends out of the base of the headset.
Included with the headset is a 2’ extension cord. The extension cord is also braided to match the headset's décor and has an elbow headset jack.
