Virtual Subwoofer and 3D Surround HeadphonesProvided By: A+
GPB Inc.. When playing a game or listening to music, sound plays a very important role. Poor quality speakers or headphones make it difficult to enjoy the game or song. That is why it is very important to buy quality headphones. A+ GPB provided us with their line of headphones. Let's find out if they are worth listening to.
Packaging: Virtual Subwoofer and 3D Surround Headphones come securely packaged in molded plastic. Though the inside plastic that the headphones rest on is a bit flimsy, and did crack a little during shipping, the headphones were not damaged. Two AAA batteries, required for bass boost, are included. One of these batteries leaked and had to be replaced. Features:
Usage: Comfort is an important factor in buying and using headphones. The padded headphone cups and padded bridge make the Virtual Subwoofer and 3D Surround Headphones very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. A self-adjusting bridge means you never have to re-adjust your headphones or worry about them slipping off your head. However, self-adjusting does not work as well with smaller heads. I had a small gap between my right ear and the lower part of the headphone. This small gap only slightly affected comfort. To test sound quality, I listened to several types of music. Overall the sound quality was great. Low and mid tones were very clear despite the volume or bass level. High tones weren’t as clear, but still very acceptable for most uses. When the bass boost is off, the sound quality is similar to many other good quality headphones. However, by setting the bass boost to level one, these headphones stand out above the rest. Level one is ideal for listening to music as only some vibration is felt. At level two, the vibrations are very heavy, so heavy you can feel the vibrations in your ears. This level would be idea for certain types of music and games. A volume and bass boast controller is located about 28 inches down the cord from the headphones. It also comes with a belt loop clip. The volume control lever has good sensitivity at volumes above level three. Moving the lever didn’t increase or decrease the volume for the lower levels. It is easy to switch between bass levels (off, I, and II). Batteries are required for bass boost, but you can still listen and adjust the volume without batteries. At the other end of the cord, two plugs are provided. Standard color is used for the plugs. The green plug is for the headphones, and the orange plug is for the microphone. Six inches of the cord near the plug ends can be separated, more than enough for any sound card. The microphone has a 360 degree turning radius, so it can easily
be moved out of the way when not in use. The microphone is six
inches long and bendable for easy adjustment. A covered end on
the microphone reduces background noise. I tested
the
microphone by recording a message then playing back that message.
Even when I whispered into the microphone, I could easily hear
all messages though some static was present. There is no volume
or mute control for the microphone, so it must be unplugged or
disabled on your computer to turn it off. Conclusion: Overall, these comfortable headphones provide great sound quality and versatility for a variety of applications. The bass boost capabilities make these headphones a must for anybody who loves to feel the sound. If you don’t mind the color, these stylish headphones are a worthwhile investment for music lovers and games alike. Pros:
