Bluetake Hi-PHONO Bluetooth Hi-Fi Audio Station Kit (cont.)Performance: When the transceiver, receiver, and mini amplifier are turned on, a blue LED on their front will light up. Before the transceiver can start sending signals to the receiver, they need to be paired. This is done by pressing the Pairing buttons on both units (when they are both on) for ~3 seconds. When in pairing mode, their LEDs will flash. When the pairing process is complete, the LEDs will stop flashing.
A notice that came with the Hi-PHONO states that the audio transmission causes a 0.1 second delay in the audio signal. This, of course, would only be noticeable when the Hi-PHONO is setup in conjunction with other speakers as in the case of using it with rear surround speakers. When watching movies, the delay is not really noticeable but when listening to music with surround speakers, the delay is quite apparent. Most home theater receivers do have speaker delay adjustments though so this issue can be dealt with. One thing to note when using the Hi-PHONO with a home theater system is that the mini amplifier supplies 20W per channel. If your theater receiver provides more power to the rear channels than that, then the Hi-PHONO may not be appropriate for you.
The Hi-PHONO uses the same AADP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) profile the i-PHONO uses. Sound quality through the transmission is very good. Sound is very clean with no noticeable background noise or distortion. Not surprisingly, the transceiver can be paired with the i-PHONO's headphone. Unfortunately, the transceiver cannot be paired with both the i-PHONO headphone and the receiver at the same time. Conclusion: The Hi-PHONO is another unique Bluetooth product from Bluetake. Its concept is simple: a device that transfers stereo audio signals wirelessly. Because it is using a digital network profile to do so, the sound quality is second only to a wired connection. In addition to great performance, the Hi-PHONO also sports superb physical design. The aluminum panels on the three units give them a sophisticated and uniform look. If you happen to have the i-PHONO, then you will be able to use its headphone with the Hi-PHONO's transceiver to listen to music wirelessly and privately up to 50 meters. Bottom line, the Bluetake Hi-PHONO Bluetooth Hi-Fi Audio Station Kit is a stylish great performing product for numerous applications. Pros:
