Sunbeam Anodized and Clear LED FansAnodized Description: Sunbeam's Anodized fans look awesome. They are very shinny and look like metal. Don't be fooled, these fans are indeed plastic, just with a metallic look. Each of the 7 blades also has a shinny paint job. Even with the metallic paint, the fans do not finger print easily. The paint is also very hard to scratch off.
Each LED wire is run along a groove in the back of the fan's frame. With other fans I have seen have a track around the outside that provides power to the LEDs. Sunbeam solders the power cable to an LED. Some shrink wrap is then added to cover the bare wires. This a professional design and looks sturdy.
Also, included with Sunbeam's Anodized fans are 5 stickers. One for each color that the fan line has to offer. Not sure why, changing stickers is not a real big bonus for me. Clear Fan Description: Sunbeam's clear fan looks like most clear fans on the market. I will say the frame is crystal clear, not like some that are foggy. The power cable has a clear plastic shield around it. This cable has a 3 pin connector branches to a 4 pin Molex pass thru for power. This makes for a very short cable with extra excess if you are using the 3 pin motherboard power. If using the 4 pin connector, the cable is stretched out with a 3 pin connector in the middle. I prefer the separate snap in 4 pin to 3 pin power converter that the Anodized fans have.
Like the Anodized fan, each LED wire is run along a groove in the back of the fan's frame. The cable is then soldered to an LED. Some shrink wrap is added to cover the bare wires. Again, a professional design and looks sturdy. Performance: Sunbeam's Anodized fans are extremely quiet. I had to put my ear about a foot away to hear them. You will not hear these in your case unless it is right on your desk and the room is dead silent. On the flip side, they do not push a lot of air. I think they would be good for blowing over hard drives or providing a little bit of air to your video cooler from a case panel fan mount. If you are looking for a fan to push air from the front of your case to the back, these are not for you.
Sunbeam's Anodized fans look sweet when powered on. The LEDs catch the blades just right, providing a nice added look. These fans will not over power your case with light like a clear frame fan does. The pictures do not do the fans justice, for the picture makes the light more intense than it is. The fan casing is a nice dark accent that blends perfectly with the LEDs.
If you want more of a high powered LED fan, I recommend Sunbeam's clear LED fan. While you can hear this fan humming lightly under your desk, it does move some air. This is plenty to get a good flow going through your case or for a CPU heatsink.
Sunbeam's clear fan also looks great. In fact, the camera showed this fan very well. Unlike the anodized fans, the full frame lights up. This makes it brighter inside the case; thus, a more centralized lighting is present. By this, I mean the fan provides a nice blue inside your case, but you can definitely see where the bright glow of the fan comes from. Your eyes are drawn to the fan because it is the focal point; instead of taking in the full case window.
Conclusion: If I was getting an LED fan, I would choose a Sunbeam fan. In fact, I have been using their fans for years now. The problem with reviews is that you write a review after a week of using a product. You never know how they hold up. I can say Sunbeam has a great track record with their fans. I personally like the Anodized fans. I wish they have a little bit more output or a model with more output. Even with the low output, I can see lots of uses for their low volume. While many of you will like the lack of sound, I like the look. LED fans can be over powering in some cases. I like the slick look of the shinny anodized paint. I also like the quad LED fans by Sunbeam, but they are now second on my list for stylin fans. Anodized Fan:
