Sunbeam Lightbus (cont.)Installation: Installation starts with hooking up the harnesses. Once those are plugged into the outputs, add the "Y" Molex passthrough connector so that the unit can get power.
Each channel has hookups for any 12V light or fan, as well as a two pin connection for a cold cathode kit. Sunbeam claims that each channel can support multiple items, so theoretically you can have two cathodes as well as an LED fan on each of the four channels. That would be eight cathodes and four LED fans (hope you have a strong PSU). I chose to use two Sunbeam Cold Cathode kits (a total of four cathodes) and two Sunbeam Lazer LEDs, though the capabilities certainly do not end there.
Installing the controller is as easy as sliding it into an open 5.25" bay and securing it with the provided hardware.
Once you have everything hooked up and powered on, the front panel comes to life with a soft blue glow. Unfortunately the blue isn't changeable (but maybe that's asking to much).
Once you get it all powered on, there's plenty of dancing lights to admire. Way to many in fact to show you them all, but here's a screenshot. The Lightbus can be seen in action on Sunbeam's Site.
Conclusion: This is an excellent product for anyone wanting near
total control over their PC case lights and/or fans. It would be
nice to see it in black. Also, anyone that has a case using rails
might have a problem with installing this product, my NZXT Nemesis
Elite to be precise. Despite that little setback, installation was
easy and quick despite what may seem to some as an overwhelming
number of wires included with this kit. I think Sunbeam has done
a great job covering the bases with this product. The shear number
of function possibilities are staggering to say the least. In my
opinion, excellent job!
