Retail Packaging: LiteOn's SOHW-1673S comes retail packaged in a nicely colored box that is plastered with tons of graphics, features and functionality, as well as specifications and awards received. What You Get: The retail package included: the drive, manuals and documentation, a cable, some hardware, Power DVD 5, and Nero 6 OEM Suite. LiteOn was also generous enough to include some dual layer discs as well as a few 16x DVD+R's for evaluation and testing.
A Closer Look: Power DVD 5 from Cyberlink is far and above better than the older version 4. It's easy to use and has many features, which keep your busy little fingers happy for hours. Install went without a hitch, and DVD playback was an enjoyable experience overall.
Drive installation was very straightforward, and the finished look is pure LiteOn. In fact, LiteOn is the only manufacturer including a volume knob and headphone port on the front of their drives nowadays. They also have a shorter drive than most, allowing for an extra inch of space in your case. |
