Mapower KC-Series 5.25"External EnclosureProvided by: Mapower One of the most rapidly expanding line of products is the external enclosure. Ever falling optical and hard drive prices; high bandwidth interfaces such as USB and Firewire; and operating systems that detect external drives without additional drivers, contribute to the external enclosure's current popularity. There are many reasons for wanting an external enclosure; add a new drive to a computer without having to open up the computer case, the case cannot accept anymore drives, or simply convert a drive into an external drive. Whatever the reason, they are all easily archived because there are plenty of external enclosures on the market today. This review will take a look at a new enclosure from a long time player in the external enclosure game; the KC-Series 5.25" External Enclosure (KC51) from Mapower. KC51 comes in both USB 2.0 and Combo USB 2.0/Firewire interfaces. This review looks at the USB 2.0 only model.
