MGE Quantum Case (cont.)A Closer Look Outside: By unlocking and opening the inner door with the included keys, you gain access to installation of the drives, as well as a nifty little switch that locks your side panels on.
A closer view of the locking switch, ribbon cable, and intake fan filter.
Pulling off the side panel reveals the side intake fan pod, which houses two of the five included 80mm fans. The pod swings away to give access to the inner part of the case.
Swinging away the fan pod, you start to get a sense
of all the room inside. Here you can also see the rear mounted 80mm
fan. Just one? Yup, just one.
With all the amenities, I expected to see more room for hard drives. There are three slots for hard drives here, along with plenty of room for 5-1/4" drives and two 3-1/2" bays. In the lower right you can just make out the built-in fan controller.
The built-in fan controller controls up to seven fans and has dip switches to shut off any unused fan rails so, you don't constantly get an error from the control pod. A ferrite donut insures that there is no noise interference from your installed fans.
Up top is a blowhole exhaust fan, along with all the connections to the top mounted multimedia pod.
