The Mouse PawProvided by: CellPages
Inc When my buddy called saying he'd found the coolest thing since case lighting, I didn't believe him until I saw it. It was what I'd been looking for all these years; right in front of me. It was The Mouse Paw. What's a Mouse Paw you ask? It's the end of stooping over your keyboard tray using the mouse, that's what. Let's see if my dreams have finally come true.
Packaging: CellPages Inc. CEO Richard Tompkins personally emailed me a tracking number stating when my package would ship. A few days later, USPS dropped it off at my doorstep. The sturdy triangular package arrived in perfect shape with no shipping damage visible.
Features: All of The Mouse Paw features can be found at MousePaw.Com
Specifications:
What You Get: The Mouse Paw comes packaged in the shipping carton accompanied by a hardware pack and easy to follow installation instructions. The Mouse Paw comes packaged as a full kit with all the parts you need for a complete installation. With the "Value Pack" you'll also receive a Logitech Cordless Mouse and a fresh set of name brand batteries. (nice extra)
Also included is an assortment of plugs and wedges as well as several sheets of pretty clear instructions. The various plugs are for tweaking your installation (see instructions) and the "well" liner is actually a little white "mousepad" glued into the "well" itself. A Closer Look: Taking a closer look at The Mouse Paw shows quality construction and a very nice vinyl covering. The 5-1/4" x 6-1/2" mousing surface seems a little small at first, but as you'll read later, it's quite adequate thanks to the small size of the Logitech cordless mouse.
The construction of the "T" shaped dense foam board threw me off a little. I was expecting a hard plastic construction, but was pleasantly surprised once I installed it.
Flipping The Mouse Paw upside down, you get an idea of how this thing "connects" to your chair's armrest. The "Swiss cheese" foam acts as a route for the straps as well as adding flexibility for installation. Note that not all parts were used for this particular installation, though they will come in handy should you decide to install this on a "T" shaped armrest.
The mouse pad is reinforced underneath with a dense foam bar, providing a nice stiff mousing surface while remaining flexible enough to allow for excellent compatibility to the armrest itself. The vinyl is tabbed and glued as opposed to stapled. This is due to the foam construction.
With the Value Pack, I received a Logitech Cordless Mouse (optical), an IR receiver, and a set of nice fresh batteries. Windows XP recognized and installed this mouse immediately with no additional drivers needed. The mouse is small by comparison to my Microsoft Explorer; thus, making it a perfect match for the mousing surface of The Mouse Paw. |
