Neuros MP3 Digital Audio Computer (cont.)Transferring Songs: The Neuros Sync Manager software includes several additional features. Besides transferring music to the Neuros MP3 Digital Audio Computer, the software allows you to manage and organize your songs, import and create playlists to transfer, identify the title and artist of HiSi samples, and automatically update software and firmware.
Dragging and dropping the file to the transfer manager tracks section from Explorer is the easiest way to add files. Then drag them to the play list to create a playlist. You can also change the ID tag which is a nice feature when browsing by Artist or Genre on the Neuros. I found that using the Neuros Sync Manager to organize songs was a bad idea. All songs found by the Neuros software (choosing “search computer for music”) are listed alphabetically in the ‘tracks’ folder. You cannot add sub-folders or rearrange your songs, but you can create playlists of songs to add organization. Tracks and playlists found or created can be transferred to your Neuros. In addition, a list of all your audio files found in the ‘tracks’ folder will be downloaded to the PC Library on your Neuros. Songs and playlists transferred to the Neuros are also grouped by artist, album, and genre, if this information was included in the song properties. So why should you go through all this trouble, when you can drag and drop to transfer songs? For 20GB users, the ability to schedule automatic downloads from your PC Library using your Neuros MP3 Digital Audio Computer is a big plus. You can only schedule downloads for audio files found in your PC Library. Users with the 128MB backpack will find it easiest to drag and drop for audio file transfer. Neuros will prompt for firmware updates. Firmware is transferred during the synchronization process. Neuros seems very active on their forums of supporting new technologies and coming out with new features, a key plus for owning a Neuros. On average, transferring took 10 seconds per song. I was able to download 30, 128 Kbps, songs to the 128MB unit.
Conclusion The Neuros MP3 Digital Audio Computer was great! The player itself was easy to navigate and user-friendly. I felt this quality over rid the fact that the instructions were not complete. If using the Neuros Sync Manager to simply transfer songs, downloading is quite easy and fast. However, if you try to use the Neuros Sync Manager to organize your songs and keep a library of your songs, expect to spend some time scrolling through the “tracks” to find only those songs you want to transfer. My favorite feature of the Neuros is MiFi. I loved having the ability to broadcast my MP3 songs to my car radio. In addition, the Neuros is easy to upgrade and expand. I would highly recommend the Neuros MP3 Digital Audio Computer to anyone who wants a personal MP3 player. Don’t forget to take a look at the Neuros 20GB HD Digital Audio Computer. Pros:
