Amazon launches Stephen King’s UR Kindle 2
Amazon announced the second-generation Kindle ebook reader with the exclusive Stephen King novel UR. Thinner than the angular original with the same price tag of $359, the reader boast a new feature, Read to Me, which can read any content on the device back to user in a decent-sounding computerized voice, seven times more storage, a sharper 16-level e-ink display that turns pages 20 times faster, 25 percent longer battery life, and a new five-way joystick that improves navigation. Thinner than an iPhone at 0.36 inches, the reader also features Amazon’s Whispernet service with Whispersync bookmarking. This allows users to continue reading a book on any other Kindle at the same page automatically. Only available in white, the pink Kindle here is just a one-off made to promote UR.
