Sony Debuts With 4 new Digital Photo Frames

Sony announces 4 new digital photos frames with the odd aspect ratio of 15:9, starting with the 10-inch, 1024×600 DPF-X1000 and an 8-inch, 800×480 DPF-800. Both frames utilize TruBlack technology to boost contrast ratios and decrease glare. Other features on these two are an on/off scheduler for power saving mode, optional Bluetooth adapters for wireless connectivity, HDMI output - which means users can viewe the photos on a compatible HD device (read HDTV), and Sony’s BIONZ technology which is something you’d see in their line of digital cameras. This means users can edit photos on-frame itself (like white balance adjustments, red eye removal etc). And less we forget, Sony also announced the 7-inch DPF-D72, which drops the fancy processing, the TruBlack coating, and drops the resolution to 800×480. Last and certainly the least, there is the 7-inch DPF-A72 model with a 480×234 resolution, minus nearly all the features of its forbearers. Of course with the strippings it is the cheapest, expected to come in under ¥10,000 ($100), while the D72 will be around ¥20,000 ($200), the X800 around ¥30,000 ($300), and the range-topping X1000 at ¥40,000 ($400). All will be available in Japan late next month.
