Opening the top reveals some moderately sized heatsinks. They are in the path of the 80mm exhaust fan. The huge 120mm fan also blows right over them. Of course, it blows right over most things in this supply. </p> <p align="left">The one thing I like is the ATX power connector for the 120mm fan. The larger capacitor more storage and less chance of failure. While not as flashy as the full cased aluminum EMI filters, it does provided the same effects. It helps to clean the incoming juice. I would say the inter workings look very good. </p> <p align="left">I will note that Active PFC also reduces the need for thicker wires or larger capacitors. According to the box, I did not receive the Active PFC unit.</p> <p align="left"><strong>Testing:</strong></p> <p align="left">To truly get a feel for performance, I will look at the power supply's voltages while under load from my system (Radeon 9800 Pro, Athlon XP 2400, 2 drive RAID 1 SATA, 1 SCSI 10,000 RPM). This supply touts 62% - 72%. Let's see how it compares to Aspire's ATX-AS500W.</p> <p align="left">I did two tests, the first test while defragging my RAID 1 and the second test was while running Sandra's CPU Arithmetic Test. Sunbeam Tech's Nuuo can save you some extra money each year versus an average PSU. This is not enough to quit your day job, but maybe enough to pay for the extra cost after a few years.</p> <p align="left"><strong>Conclusion:</strong></p> <p align="left">Sunbeam Tech's Nuuo is a great looking power supply. More important is that its performance is awesome. It is more efficient than a standard supply and more quiet than most I have heard. The voltages are insanely good.
