NZXT Guardian Mid Tower CaseProvided by: NZXT
Packaging: The Guardian case arrived in perfect shape, well wrapped and boxed. The top and bottom were fitted with typical dense foam covers, and the whole thing wrapped in an anti-static bag. Pretty standard stuff.
General Specifications All of the NZXT Guardian features can be found at NZXT's
web site.
Exterior:
Setting the standard packaging aside, here's what you get with the Guardian. The case, a box of hardware, a nice manual, and an invoice.
The case looks excellent, with some very welcomed flair you don't see in other pre-mods. NZXT's Guardian case is anything but dull, especially with a brooding "Transformer-ish" looking front detail. An exquisite window detail just adds to the overall awesome looks of this pre-modded computer case.
Taking a look at the rear, you can see we have a basic I/O plate installed, and the inclusion of a few thumbscrews which make for a tooless case. What really stands out back here is the unevenness of the fan vents. I have definitely not seen this implemented on any other case and seriously doubt any performance gain or loss comes from it. Installed is a standard 80mm fan, with space for two, and room for yet another at the front of this case for intake, providing for a total of four possible fans.
The window shows imagination and detail. Much more than we've come to expect from a pre-mod, and leaning more towards custom, the window really "makes this case". Good job NZXT. Installed in the middle of the very fine window detail is a chromed fan grill with what looks to be a chiropter or dragon design. |
