Oglebox ATX Display Case (cont.)Installation:
The included owner's manual provides very good instructions on mounting and installing the Oglebox. It advises to use the included gloves when handling the display case to prevent any fingerprints and smudges from getting onto the acrylic. Use a stud finder to find a stud in the wall. It is very important that at least one of the two mounting screws be secured to a stud. Mark the two edges of a stud with a pencil. To mark the spots on the wall where the screws are going to go, hold the Oglebox over the area and mark the two mounting hole areas making sure one of the hole is in the center of a stud.
Once the wall is properly marked, secure the two included wall mounting screws into the marked spots. I suggest drilling holes in those spots before using the screws to help prevent the stud from splitting. Make sure to not use to big a drill bit or else the screw will not have a secure grip. Insert both screws into the wall leaving about 1/4 inch of the screw head exposed.
Make sure the display case is clean of all smudges and then mount it onto the wall. Tighten the screws more if the display case can still move slightly forward and back. Finally, attach a motherboard into the case. With the I/O ports pointing to the left, line up the motherboard’s screw holes over the standoffs. Then secure the motherboard down, from top to bottom. Once everything is properly mounted, close the display case and lock it. Conclusion: One may question the redundancy of this product; it is nevertheless a very nice product for what it is: a motherboard display case. The Emerald tint gives the case a look of glass while having all the benefits of acrylic. The built in lock gives your "classic" motherboard a sense of security. Though the average user may not be ready to drop down almost a hundred dollars to put their motherboard on display, those who really love computers and have a motherboard worth showing off like that overclockable beast, an Oglebox display case is a great way to go.
