Transformer ATX Case (cont.)A Closer Look Inside: Razotech's Transformer comes with a single fan, 450 watt L&C power supply. Ratings and voltages are as follows:
At this cost, there is no fan for the rear exhaust, much less intake. The PCI slots were not tooless, though I can certainly live with that. The inside is still roomy enough for a full ATX board.
Up front there is room for an 80, 92, or 120mm intake fan and plenty of bays should you decide to get your RAID on. Noticeably gone is a horizontal strengthening bar, and this case could use one too. The case flexed pretty good with the side panels removed. A strengthening bar would have held that flex to a minimum.
Normally, I've had good experiences with L&C power supplies, but this one had a weak 12v rail. Measuring in at 11.68 volts, it was within the given 5%, but not by much. Not a performance PSU by any means, but it still had some nice amperage ratings. More than enough to run a daily computer in fact.
Fit And Finish: Fit and finish were both strong areas with this case. Tight tolerances and nicely finished edges are a definite plus, especially in a budget case. The paint was nicely finished and smooth, plus the panels all fit well.
Conclusion: Razotech's Transformer is a great design. The chrome
grill is a nice touch, and the design flowed nicely. At this price
point, it's nice to see any PSU, let alone a fairly decent one.
A drawback is that you will need to buy some fans for this case.
