News Section added

There is no way of getting around the lack of reviews we have been doing the last year. So a new year with new promises for the future and one of those promises will not be to do more reviews but it will be to start a more news focused blog (news/) . We are going to kick off with a little reporting from CES since I'm currently at CES this year. This wasn't something I had planed but I was a bit tired of renovating my home and needed a short brake from all the DIY craziness that has been going on in my home. I have become quite the handy man reading up on all possible DIY guides (http://www.diy-guides.com) i can find and watching other handymen at work on Youtube and DIY Network (http://www.diynetwork.com/) .

Laptops and Netbooks

First of all, I'm going to change the focus on the site a little bit since I don't have time todo the reviews anymore in the same way that it's been done before. So it will shift into being more news oriented in a few weeks. Before I get started on doing the switch over to news rather then reviews I'm going to buy my self a new laptop or possibly a Netbook. I haven't really decided on what's the right choice for me, I checked trough TestFreaks, Cnet, Laptopical, Notebook Review and a few other sites and to be honest I think a Netbook might be a really compelling alternative to a full fledged Laptop. I think both Notebook Review and TestFreaks offer a great collection of Laptop reviews (http://www.testfreaks.com/laptops/) which is better for getting the overview and Notebook Reviews (http://www.notebookreview.com) offer really well written reviews. For example found the HP Pavillion dv5t (http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4555) on Notebook Review that seems like a great little item, cheap yet good performance. So the question is if I need the full-sized laptop or if Netbooks is the way to go. Asus has a few really nice Netbooks (http://www.testfreaks.com/netbooks/) but I was kind of hoping that Apple would come out with Netbook on the cheap side.. Well as soon as this buying decision is done I'll have the news section up and running in no time..

More Reviews

Since we don't have the time our the resources here at a A True Review to test every product out there I would like to give you a few good recommendations. When it comes to motherboards I like motheboards.org (http://www.motherboards.org/) and tomshardware.com (http://www.tomshardware.com/us/) a lot, they provide in depth reviews and great shoot outs. A new site thats currently in beta (TestFreaks.com (http://www.testfreaks.com/) ) provides a lot of links to great motherboard reviews (http://www.testfreaks.com/motherboards/) and also has a meta grade based on all the sources (FreakScore). Testfreaks seems ambitions but they aren't 100% there yet, but definitely worth keeping an eye on.Moving on to graphic cards, again TomsHardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/graphics/index.html) , TestFreaks (http://www.testfreaks.com/graphics-cards/) and also PCMag (http://www.pcmag.com/category2/0,1738,6994,00.asp) provides great resources to find reviews. For Monitors I really prefer Tomshardware (http://www.tomshardware.com) yet again, they carry out one of the most in depth tests and comparison between the different monitors. TestFreaks has also some great links to lcd monitor reviews (http://www.testfreaks.com/monitors/) .I could go on forever I guess, in the end you need to look at a few different sites to find the best reviews and also to find which product is the best one for you. I think I will continue to use Tomshardware in the future also but TestFreaks could prove it self to be a great place to start out, they have a lot of reviews in many different areas and they also offers price comparison from several partners.

aXbo Sleep Phase Alarm Clock

Have you ever noticed that some mornings waking up takes no effort at all while other mornings waking up feels like the hardest thing to do in the world. Believe it or not, when you sleep at night, you are not in one constant “state” of sleep. Rather, a night’s sleep is made up of cycles (or phases) consisting of different levels of sleep. If you are awoken during the “right” phase, waking up is as easy as can be. However, if you are awoken during the “wrong” phase, waking up takes a monumental effort.Wouldn’t it be great if you could somehow wakeup during the right phase every morning! Well, that is exactly the promise of the Sleep Phase Alarm Clock from aXbo. Just how does aXbo’s alarm clock differ from your standard alarm clock and how well does it work? Read on and find out.

In this computer and internet day in age, we find ourselves dealing with more and more sensitive data. Whether it be credit card numbers, login information to various accounts, or top secret files we need to carry around, having a secure way to store these things is become more and more important. Sure, you can always try and store credit card and login information in your head, but the more of those things you have to store, the more daunting of a task it becomes. And as for sensitive files, storing it in your mind is out of the question.
