Sierra Wireless Voq Professional SmartphoneDescription: Physically, Sierra's Wireless Voq Professional Smartphone is designed to be more like a phone than a PDA. The "candy bar" style Voq has a tall and curvaceous body that, though voluminous, is comfortable to hold and can easily slip into a jacket or loose pant pocket. The front of the phone features a 2.2" portrait oriented LCD screen.
Also, on the front of the phone is a generously sized numeric keypad. Each of the standard 12 numeric keys is comfortably wide and spaced. Additional function buttons located between the screen and keypad round out the front of the phone. These function buttons include a standard green call and red hang up buttons, two soft buttons, a home button, a back button, a special myVoq button, and a 5 way thumb stick for navigating the Windows Mobile interface.
A very nifty feature the Voq has is that the numeric keypad can flip open to reveal a QWERTY keypad. Compared to other smartphones that have fixed QWERTY keypads, this flip out design allows the Voq to remain relatively slim while offering a comfortably wide keypad to type on when needed. The left side of the Voq phone features rubber volume toggle buttons and a 2.5mm headset port covered by a rubber cap.
The right side of the phone features the power button and the voice dial/record button. Also on the right side is an SD/MMC card slot.
The top of the phone features an IR window. The bottom of the phone features a long data port for which the included USB sync cable plugs into. Instead of doubling charging port with the data port, the bottom of the phone has a separate round DC charging port. This is nice for it allows the phone to be charged while plugged to the computer.
The back of the Voq features the removable battery pack. Also on the back is a small speaker.
Included with the phone is a modular international AC charger which supports the US prong as well as European and UK prongs. Also, included is the aforementioned USB sync cable for connecting Voq to a computer. As with any other phone, a mono wired headset is included.
For documentation, a hefty user guide is included as well as a concise pocket reference. Lastly, a companion CD is included which includes Microsoft Outlook 2002 as well as Microsoft ActiveSync for transferring and synchronizing data between the phone and a computer.
