Speeze HawkStream Socket A Cooler (cont.)
Testing: A Thermaltake Volcano 7+ will be tested against the Speeze HawkStream. A Volcano 7+ is a solid heatsink for the heavy computer user. The 7+ will be run at 4800 RPMs. Because the 7+ is a copper heatsink and has a bigger fan, 70x25mm, I expect it to perform better than the Speeze, but lets find out. The test system is an AMD 1.4 GHz processor. A full load will be placed on the processor using the distributive networking program, Folding@Home. Arctic Silver Ceramique will be used in replace of the standard thermal paste that is included with the Speeze HawkStream. Arctic Silver Ceramique will be allowed to setup for two days before testing takes place. Outside room temperatures will be taken using a digital thermometer. Processor readings are taken from a Motherboard Monitor 5. This is not the best solution because the temperatures are taken from on outside the CPU instead of inside. Air and the outside covering of the processor will skew the temperature readings a little bit. A decent comparison can still be drawn with this type of testing. Results:
