Superpower XP03P Gaming Computer Case (cont.)Inside:
Getting into the case is ultra easy. Just slide the four latches on the door and pull the panel off. The web site mentions the case as a screwless design, but it is not. The XQ model is actually the screwless model. Hard drives and optical drives will have to be screwed in. The motherboard tray is not removable. A removable motherboard tray helps when changing out components inside the case.
In front of the hard drive cage are screw holes to mount another 120mm fan. I would recommend getting another fan to help move fresh air into the case and cool your drives. The interior metal is rounded over so it will not cut you apart.
In the back of the case is the 120mm fan as mentioned before. A 120mm fan is an excellent choice because it pushes more air with less RPMs, which means less noise. Above it is a ledge for the power supply to rest on. I would have liked to see another ledge on the side just for the added security, but this ledge does hold a standard supply.
Inside the door are 4 holes for a fan, or so it would seem. Actually, the holes are a little big for standard fan screws. You will have to go to Home Depot and grab larger head screws to mount fans on the door. I would also cut around the ring of holes to open up a larger hole for air to be sucked through. Around the plastic circular X on the outside of the door are intakes for air. If installing a door fan, know that tearing apart the door is a pain. You must unscrew the four latches, then pop the plastic cover off of the metal by pushing in all the plastic tabs. Heck of a mod project, don't you think?
As mentioned in the specifications, this case is raised off the ground by about 1 1/2 inches, a perfect situation for a bottom fan. Unfortunately, there is no bottom fan mount or grill. I like the idea of forcing cool air up from the bottom of the case and taking it out the top. Imagine the cooling if you put the case over an air-conditioning vent.
The 5 1/4 inch drive bay covers have a pop out middle section. This really doesn't do much because a CD won't fit through it. Maybe if you want a light mod, you can pop one of these out and work with it. Conclusion: Superpower's XP03P gaming case is a sharp looking case. Carrying it is easy as long as it is not super heavy. Opening the door by moving latches is better than screws any day. Unfortunately, the rest of the case is not screwless. The 120mm fan and fan slots a nice touch for quiet cooling. There are some negatives with the case. To make this case cool even better, I would have a better fan mount system on the door. In addition or maybe instead, I would like to see a fan on the bottom. Then again that's what modding is for. Pros:
