mCubed T-Balancer SL4 (cont.)Description:
mCubed's T-Balancer SL4 is one of two forms that the T-Balancer is available in. In the SL4 form, the controller board is mounted to an expansion slot cover; thus, it takes one of your case's expansion slots. Though, an expansion slot on the motherboard is not needed. T-Balancer also comes in an XL form, which instead of an expansion slot cover, the controller board is sandwiched between two pieces of acrylic. Functionality wise, the XL and SL4 are the same, but the XL can be installed internally or externally.
Connections on the T-Balancer SL4 controller board includes 8 fan ports (4 for fan connections, 4 tacho headers for connection to motherboard or wherever else the fan would have been connected to), one internal USB header, two sensor headers, and a Molex port. In the middle of the expansion slot is an external USB port and two cutouts for the Power and USB LEDs.
T-Balancer uses little digital temperature sensor units. Four sensors are included, and each sensor unit features a power LED and two sensor cable headers. The two sensor cable headers allows the T-Balancer controller unit to daisy chain up to 4 sensors per sensor header on the board. With two sensor headers, the controller unit can handle up to 4 additional sensors for a total of 8. A strip of double sided tape is included for the use of mounting sensors.
Six sensor cables are included. These resemble CD-ROM internal audio cables. Two sensor cable couplers are included. They can be used to turn two sensor cables into one long cable. Four signal cables are included. Each signal cable has a 3 pin fan plug on each end. One signal cable coupler is included. Another cable included, is an internal USB header cable featuring a conjoined 4 connector head on one end and four separate single connector heads on the other. Finally, four small zip ties are included to help tidy things up.
