PowerColor Theater 550 Pro (cont.)What You Get: Double boxed and nicely packed, the internal box contains a wealth of hardware as well as software. We'll go through these as completely as possible below. While the mound of included accessories was a bit overwhelming, I assure you it was a cinch to install and use, even to a PVR n00b like myself. Here's a quick rundown of what's included: Theater 550 Pro tuner card, quick installation guide, driver cd, application CD, FM antenna cable, remote control, batteries (for the remote), the remote sensor, and an ATI Theater 550 pro demo DVD.
Here are the main components: the card and the remote. The card is a low profile design with coaxial ports for antenna inputs, S-Video, and an external pod (included see below). The remote is large and well designed, including tons of buttons and features. Batteries for the remote are included.
This photo shows (from left to right) the external pod, the FM antenna, and the remote sensor. The pod gives even more possibilities with: S-Video, RCA audio left and right, and RCA video. The FM antenna is fairly straightforward, being a standard two-wire antenna with coaxial connection. The remote sensor utilizes the USB connection, is plug and play, and is picked-up immediately and recognized during installation.
The software included consists of: a driver CD, an application CD, and a DVD video. The driver CD includes drivers for the card as well as the Theater Pro software required for use. The application CD, which I did not use, contains a suite of software that were not required for my use; therefore, I won't go into detail on those. Included in the suite is: PowerDirector SE+, MediaShow SE, Power DVDPowerProducer DVD, and Power2Go. The DVD demo includes: video quality comparisons, technical information, and detailed product information.
