SilverStone TJ02 “Glacier” Limited Edition Case (cont.)Interior:
The interior of the Glacier LE is semi tool-less environment. Every drive bay uses a unique tool-less design. Each drive bay has a purple rail with white tabs that extend or contract metal tabs on the inside of the drive bays.
A white tab in the middle of the rail slides to the left (open position) to contract the metal tabs inside the drive bay and slides to the right (close position) to extend the tabs into a drive's screw hole, thus securing it.
While the white tab is slid to the right, a second smaller white tab located to the right can be slid up to lock the bigger white tab in the close position. This design is more convenient than the tool-less design which has the rails attached to the drives. It only secures a drive on one side, which for some, may not be secure enough. In addition to the purple and white tab system, drives can be secured with screws for additional security if one desires.
The removable hidden 3.5" four drive cage is held by two thumb screws, one on top and the other at the bottom. When the screws are removed, the drive cage slides out.
The exposed 3.5" two drive cage can also be removed. Removing the four bay drive cage revealed the white 120mm intake fan.
The seven expansion slots, unfortunately, do not feature any type of tool-less design. Though it is a bit of a shame, it is better than using a tool-less design that does not work. But again, SilverStone could have easily made the expansion slots tool-less by using thumb screws. The power supply area has tabs to support both the sides of a PSU.
Just about every edge inside the case is either folded over or rounded to minimize possibility of injury.
