Raidmax Virgo 811W Case (cont.)Interior: Being that the Virgo 811W is in the budget category, the interior features no tool-less designs of any kind. Each of the ten drive bays and 7 expansion slots requires standard screws for securing.
At the back of the case is a 120mm clip-in fan bay which is occupied with the included 120mm fan. Below that, each of the 7 expansion slots is covered with pop-out slot covers. Mounted to the floor of the case is an internal speaker.
At the lower front corner of the case, in front of the internal 3.5" drives, is a fan bay that can support either a 120mm or 80mm fan. Instead of motherboard pin headers for the front audio ports, the Virgo 811W uses 3.5mm jacks. I particularly like this as it allows the front audio ports to be compatible with any sound card. Amongst all the cables leading from the front of the case is a thermal probe. It is this probe that controls front temperature display.
The interior side of the left side panel is covered with a protective film to protect the case window. A common feature budget cases have is a CPU fan guide and the Virgo 811W is no exception. Ideally, the CPU fan guide should line up over the CPU cooling fan so the CPU can be cooled with fresh air from the outside of the case rather than the case's internal ambient air.
Raidmax's Virgo 811W further enhances the air guide's performance by adding a fan between the guide and side panel. As noble the intentions of the air guide may be, they usually end up not being used for they tend not to line up well the CPU cooling fan. Furthermore, with CPU coolers getting bigger and bigger, the air guide will more likely get in the way of the cooler. It can however be easily removed by unscrewing four screws. If one decides to remove the air guide, you will still be left with a very quiet side intake fan. Additionally, the side fan features three different color LEDs (orange, red, and yellow). The three colors give the fan a great fiery look.
All the edges of the interior are either folded or rounded to help minimize chances of getting cut. Though no specifications are given on the two included case fans, they are both very quiet. I would estimate them to be about 22dBA each. A small bag of motherboard standoffs and screws are included along with an AC cable for the included power supply.
