Welcome to the third installment of the Water-cooling
for Everyone series. Quite a lot has changed in the computer world
since the first installment was written over a year ago; especially
CPUs and their operating temperatures. Today with most air cooling,
like the god forbidden stock cooler, the CPU idles at a temperature
that would have warranted concern as a load temperature back then.
This rise in temperature makes alternative cooling, like water-cooling,
a more logical and sought after choice, now more than ever. This
makes water-cooling more mainstream than ever.

In this installment of Water-cooling for Everyone, I will again
be taking a look at an enthusiast water-cooling kit, the H20-120
Rev. 3, from a well known and respected name, Swiftech. In addition,
to show just how mainstream water-cooling has gotten this review
also takes a look at a mainstream water-cooling kit, the Bigwater
from Thermaltake. Thermaltake is a well known computer accessories
manufacturer. Just how does an enthusiast kit and a mainstream kit
differ? Read on to find out.

The differences start with the packaging. Even though
the Thermaltake Bigwater is a water-cooling kit, it is produced
and packaged as a single product in mainstream fashion. Thermaltake's
Bigwater comes packaged in a full colored retail box. The front
of the box has the name of the product along with a cutout that
allows you to see the Bigwater's main components.

The left side of box has the specifications table
while the right side has the features list. The back of the box
features a brief introduction to the Bigwater's various components.

Inside the box, the kit’s various components
are held in place in designated crevices with two pieces of rectangular
plastic foam.

In sharp contrast, Swiftech H20-120 Rev. 3 comes packaged
in true enthusiast fashion. Like the Asetek
Waterchill and Alphacool
Cape Set, each of the kit's components is a separate modular
product. This kit is a collection of these individual products.
Swiftech's H20-120 Rev. 3 comes packaged in a brown unmarked shipping
box.

Inside, each of the components are wrapped with bubble
wrap or enclosed in a bubble wrap bag. Each individual "package"
is clearly labeled.
